The "Institut Biblique Leadership Chrétien Haitien" (the Creole version of the "Haiti Christian Leadership Bible Institute") was begun in 1995. It is a two year course with the first year geared toward personal growth for the believer. The second year is a more in-depth study of the Word of God for those called to the ministry or desiring to be used of the Lord. Upon completion of the first year, a certificate is awarded and second year graduates receive a diploma. There are over 3,000 Haitian pastors and church leaders either taking the courses or have graduated.
The 1st-year has nine courses (19 lessons and exams) and seven books. The second year is more difficult, with ten lessons and two exams. And each lesson has questions to be answered and returned for grading. Unlike most correspondence courses, these courses are written out (not an outline) with most of the scripture references typed out in order to make it easier and less complicated for the student. In 1998 the 1st-year course was translated into
English and is available for anyone desiring to take it. If you
