(Haiti Earthquake Update: We are happy to report we have secured temporary housing for our employees who either lost their homes or whose houses are uninhabitable. We are now in the process of rebuilding a house for a widow in the village of Callebasse. Her "former house" is one of several photos Marilyn took soon after the quake. They can be seen on the photo page.

Spirit & Sword Ministries is a missions
organization dedicated to bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to the nation
of Haiti. This is being done by way
of a 2-year Bible Correspondence Course, books and a 4-page quarterly
newsletter, all in Haitian Creole. A 2-year Bible School has
also been established here in South Florida, targeted towards the Haitian
people.

Tom & Marilyn Shaw, founders of Spirit & Sword, received 2 Timothy
2:2 as the spiritual foundation for their ministry -"The things you
have learned from many witnesses, the same commit to faithful men (and
women), who shall be able to teach others also."
Having lived in Haiti from 1985 - 1996, Tom & Marilyn now live in
Florida but have
an office in Haiti with a Haitian staff. They travel to Haiti
three to four times a year.
The "Haiti Christian Leadership Journal" and the "Bible Correspondence Course" (in English & Creole) are two unique "one of a kind" phases of Spirit & Sword in Haiti. In 2005, the ministry's first employee, Wilner Charles, and his wife Jacqueline began a small Sunday afternoon Bible school for Haitian children at their home. It has now grown to over 250 children coming every week! Wilner's four sons help lead praise and worship, the kids are taught a Bible lesson and have a chance to color, too. They then receive a meal of beans and rice before leaving. Many have accepted Jesus as Lord. Ten are orphans who have no parents and live with relatives. These children are specially supported and placed in school. The Lord has blessed these two programs and we thank everyone who has given towards this. Tom & Marilyn would love to come and share about Haiti with your church, Bible study or cell

etc. about organ donation, having received a liver transplant in 1998. So
